Long time no post, and here's why

Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I've posted (end of September to be exact) so I figured with the year drawing to an end, I should take this opportunity to update you on how we've been doing.

For me personally, it's not been

HYGIENE on set.. is it REALLY necessary?

In a word YES it is.
I know it's a pain, but there is just no way around it, it has to be done.

With this post I aim to explain what proper hygiene is and I'll try and help you on your way to a work routine that is both safe and easy to adopt. All it takes is a little discipline, but trust me, once you are aware of the health risks that your model (and you) are exposed to, you will be happy to put in the effort. I felt the need to post this because I see a lot of mua's kits that are just beyond nasty. Not cleaned, disinfected, with dirty brushes that are used on everyone, sponges that are never even washed. If anyone were to do makeup on ME with that nasty mess, I would not

My first national newspaper mention!

It's a small step, but I'm still pretty stoked!

In My Kit

I wanted to wait until my new Züca Pro arrived before doing this post, because I haven't been happy with my old set up for a while. I keep switching it around but it never really feels ok. My old trunk, which was just a very cheap aluminum toolbox from the hardware store, was literally screaming for retirement. At any time, I felt like it would just fall apart, and there is never a right time for that to happen.

I dream of Agnes...

Welcome everyone to my new blog!

Who the heck is Agnes you ask? I'll get to that in a second.. after I give you a little insight in my life and how it progressed.
At the tender age of 11, after years of playing with my big sisters makeup, it dawned on me that there was actually a profession called "Makeup Artist", and from then on that was all I ever wanted to be.
This was back in the day, way before the internet (yes you guessed it, I'm OLD lol) and all I had to feed my interest was my monthy fix of fashion magazines, Vogue UK, Italy and US mainly.
I read the credits with the pictures, and became familiar with the likes of Mary Greenwell, Charlie Green and even Way Bandy.

With no idea of how to realize my dream and no one around to tell me, I did ..
